Sunday Post

Special treat at the bottom this week.

Quick explanation: the cross marks the first source of the Amazon river. It's got quite the impact if you're aware of how much outflow the river has at its final mouth to the Atlantic (think millions of cubic feet per SECOND).

First sunday treat! I was recommended Neil Young's classic "Cortez the Killer" and finally got around to looking it up. The search on youtube turned out better than I could've hoped: not only did I get an original album recording and several recordings of Neil playing it with multiple backup band configurations, I also found this absolute gem of a cover. I'm not sure what the occasion for it was, but it's mind-blowing. I'd never heard of Grace Potter but I swear to God it's like she's channeling Janis. Satch is monstrous as always, and the trumpet really gives the piece a unique tone. As I said: overall, mind-blowing. Enjoy yourselves and see you at the next Sunday Post.
