Sunday Post

I'll have you turkeys know that I'm putting off valuble homework-finishing time to get this up while it's still technically Sunday.

First there was church this morning, and then we had to stay late to record some songs for the dancers to practice with the Pageant concerts. Groceries were then needed, and I made an extra walking detour around downtown through to Cabin 12 (I needed some comfort food - church is tough for me sometimes). One big plate of french toast later (" 'Le Bowie' - eights slabs of french toast with a star-dusting of icing sugar'), I was back home giving my bike some TLC too. Poor guy's chain and gears took a pummelling over the last week with all the snow, ice, salt, and grit - you wouldn't believe how much crap I scraped out from between the links and cogs. Anyway, he got all cleaned up and the chain's got a new coat of kick-your-face-in all-weather grease and I'm hoping to get the brakes done tomorrow at the Bike Kitchen at school.

Blah. And now homework. Bloody internet vultures. I give and I give and you take and you take, grumble grumble...

Oh, and see this guy?

I get masterclasses from him. Oh yeah.

Everything's Amazing and Nobody's Happy

Got this passed along to me - said it brought me to mind.

I can see why. So great, and so very very true.

Sunday Post

Hey y'all. Just wanna say sorry I've been nixing the Digital Post for the last.... month. Cough. Just haven't been getting around to it, in all honesty. I've been busy with school and work and enjoying my life, so that's basically my excuse.

Anyway, just givin' anyone the heads-up who thinks they might be able to haul their asses out to my humble corner of the sea for a weekend. Mark Saturday December 18th on your calendars - West My Friend is opening for Fish & Bird at Herman's Jazz Club. Needless to say, I'm so fucking stoked. I've seen Adam and Taylor play no less than four or five times, also including the incredibly fantastic Campbell Bay Fest back in May, and to be actually sharing the stage with them is going to be a little swoon-inducing I think. And that's just for us. You folks in the audience will be in for one fantastic night. They'd been kickin' the show around for a little while, but it's for-sure confirmed now, so we're all a-titter in West My Friend land. I haven't heard anything about cover, but it'll probably be between $5-10, so it's doable for all you poor bastards.

And then, if you're too cheap (who am I kiddin', or too busy) to make it out in person, the weekend before, specifically Sunday the 12th, we're being featured on CFUV's Back Alley Jams program. Show starts at 5 PM, and you can stream it online at CFUV's website. That'll be pretty swell too. Needless to say, we're all beyond stoked to be back on the performing course again.

And then it snowed Friday night. Life is good.

See y'all later.

and I think we all know that I kinda fucking love Grace Potter, so here's another one of her's!

Seriously, I don't think I can ever get tired of listening to/watching this lady sing. And her band, too! What a crew. Two videos. Yes I did.

and now for something completely different. Methinks Eden would have conflicting emotions on this one.

PS. Dear Legs of Grace Potter and Catherine Popper,

Stop making me feel like such a goddamn misogynist.

Sunday Post

And then I remembered what day of the week it actually was, and realized that "oh, it's Sunday TODAY." Go me.

Still no rambling news because my fingers are still beered. Still suck it up, y'all. See ya..... uh.... before next Sunday, hopefully? Woo!

Ozzy himself started his tour last night in Victoria. I want to remember him like this:

Digital Post

So here I am, thinking to myself:

"Well, I have no church in the morning, no work until 2, and I am far too full of good and tasty beer to go to bed right now."

Obvious solution? Digital Post! Not mention the fact that I noticed that I'd been backstocking DP pictures for a while and I now have about a full month's worth already lined up. Sorry for being so stingy on the DPs for the last while; I love the artwork that I put up on these and I feel a little bad for not getting around to 'em, especially since I'd already had all the material ready to go. Ahwell!

Hope you enjoy! My fingers are too tingly to type properly, and I feel like like watching a movie, so no rambling news today. Suck it up, y'all. See ya on Sunday!

PS. Howe Sound Winter Ale. Find some. Put it in in yer gullet. Have a good time.

Sunday Post

I may have issues with homework soon. Large writing assignment due sometime between tomorrow and Wednesday, and I have zero free time between now and 11 tonight. Argh. Ahwell.

Not much to say this Post. I've got a couple of blessedly free days next week, thanks to reading break and fortuitous work scheduling. Huzzah!

Have a good week!
