I've always said that the only percieved "Up" cars have over other ways of getting around is convenience - other than their "convenience" they're really nothing but smelly, noisy, and extremely dangerous metal boxes that rip around much faster than anything really ought to. However, the most frequent reason I've heard from people who don't take transit instead is that it's "too annoying to use" - ie. scheduling woes, wait times, etc etc. (another common reason is "I just bike everywhere" - this is an okay reason). Wouldn't it be nice if there was some way to follow exactly what the buses are doing? Wouldn't it be awesome if someone made a phone ap or something to keep live bus tracking and scheduling?
Oh wait.
Personally, I already find transit fairly easy to use, and when I happen to miss a bus or just don't really know, I don't really care anyway. However, as fantastic as it would be, I don't think it's really feasible for everyone to be as mellow and peaceful as I am. Thus, having transit schedules opened up like in the video would be a huge persuasion for people to switch to bussing and trains. This sort of open-sourcing transit data is also totally doable everywhere - none of this "well, it works in Europe, but it wouldn't work here" crap (as well as "well, it works in New York, but it wouldn't work here" - if you have a transit system, you can do this).

Salt Spring
I don't know.
I don't know
what is going through your head
as you arch your back like a wave,
shoulderblades pushing against my chest
like so much water heaving itself at the shore.
I don't know
what is going through your head
as you lay finally still,
my kisses trickling down your back
towards my fingers (still smelling of you
as the soles of my shoes smell of
freshly rained-upon earth).
All I know is this:
we are just two people,
(I - lonely;
You - today a friend, tomorrow a vacancy)
my hand is on your belly,
and I can't ignore how your hips
are grinding against mine like a mill
pulled by the breath of God Himself.

So we're back here again. The tumblr was pretty, but I didn't like the picture formatting and layout at all, and seeing as the main basis of this entire blog is the picture posting, it just wouldn't do. So we're back with the blogspot. Huzzah!
Anyway, here's the DP. Pardon me while I flee off to bed - I have a bakery job interview in the morning and I'm mighty antsy about it. Ahwell. If I get the gig, I go get Phillips' Skookum. If I don't get the gig, I still go get Phillips' Skookum. It's fairly win-win (in the sense that both results yield beer).

I'm Back
Saltspring Island is amazing. Suffice to say, I had the most absurd Saturday and Sunday of my life. Weddings are pretty magical - so is skinny dipping in the full moon with a bunch of people you've just met that day.
I cannot state this enough: skinny dipping under the full moon is fucking awesome. (also, it's pretty hilarious when a girl's ass is literally glowing - thank you, phosphorescence)
I'm also more determined than ever to go ramblin': I hitch-hiked for the first time and caught a ride across the Island in the back of a truck with a couple other 'packers to the ferry after walking about halfway with a big pack on my back.
In any case, I'm certain there is now absolutely nothing that could seperate me from my incredible love and in-place longing for Cascadia and the Sea. I am happy - this is a good comparison (thanks to Connor for the reintroduction).

Hey y'all. Just lettin' you know there won't be a post Sunday morning - I'm going to a wedding on Saltspring Island and I won't be back until the evening, so I'll try to remember to put it up when I get home. Bitchin' treat today; have a good weekend!
Trailer for Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2. If the guy looks familiar, it's because he was in Battlestar Galactica (and apparently Smallville, but I never watched it). Madness; if Crashdown could've done this, the cylons wouldn't have stood a chance. I highly recommend watching it straight off youtube for good ol' hi-def goodness.

To: Citibank
Re: The ground floor
Dear Citibank,
I am writing to apply for a job with your company, and I should say ahead of time that I am using you to tease my mother. I don't have any interest in whatever it is you people do. Every time I see her, she starts in on me again. Why don't you have a career yet? What are you doing with your life?
But Citibank, you know what the best day of my life was? The day I realized that I could work a shitty part time job to cover my rent and my food, and the rest of my time could be my own.
So, I apologize for using your current economic woes to tease my mother, and her idea of my banker cousin as a model I should aspire to. I know you guys are probably freaking out. You need to just relax. Think about what I said. I have a pretty nice life.

Barcelona Bike Move
Found another Bike Move video, this time in Barca (and I loooooove Barca - hello top of list of places to go). I don't remember if I've put up a bike move video before - first one I found was from Portland and it was incredibly awesome, but like I said, I don't recall if I've posted it (and I'll check - if I haven't, I will, because it is so much more ridiculous than this one). Anyways, a bike move is exactly what it sounds like: house moving, but with bikes. It blows your mind in a good way.

Here's the first Digital Post - the computer art equivalent of the Sunday Post, except I'm not quuuuite sure if I want to add another commited weekly picture post (I don't want either to suffer from lack of stuff). In any case, both will still be full of awesome and inspirational pictures, and I'll try and find fitting treats for the DP too, starting with this. See you on Sunday!
